Judges Mansions, The X Factor

The X Factor avoids The Voice time slot on Tuesday

0

In a change of heart, FOX has decided not to air a two-hour episode of The X Factor beginning at 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Instead, The X Factor has managed to edit the episode down to one hour and will air it at 9:30 p.m.

Reaction number 1: Lots of folks, myself included, would argue that two hours was pretty excessive for a show that included no singing in the first place.

Reaction number 2: FOX and The X Factor apparently knew no one was going to sit through two hours of an episode when they’d already seen the first 70 minutes or so on Wednesday.

Reaction number 3: The shift saves The X Factor the embarrassment of going head-to-head with The Voice and getting its butt kicked. The Voice airs from 8 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.

The suspense for this X Factor episode is pretty much ruined. We’re supposed to watch to find out who advances from the judges’ mansions to the live rounds.

But we already know that Diamond White, Carly Rose Sonenclar, Arin Ray and Beatrice Miller are advancing among the teens.

We already know Cece Frey, Jennel Garcia, Willie Jones and Paige Thomas are advancing among the young adults.

We already know David Correy, Jason Brock, Tate Stevens and Vino Alan are advancing among the over 25s.

And we already know Emblem 3 and Lyric145 are advancing and Dope Crisis is going home among the groups.

That leaves the fate of just three groups undetermined: Sister C and two groups The X Factor created, Playback and Lylas.
