Thousands try out for Idol in Detroit

0

Given American Idol’s recent run of luck, is it any surprise the show’s stop in Detroit came just days after Motor City officials said they’d file for bankruptcy?

Of course not.

But a funny thing happened in Detroit. Lots of auditioners showed up.

In fact, news reports out of Detroit placed the turnout at something like 8,000.

Which would be twice the number who turned out for the first auditions in Salt Lake. And apparently lots more than showed up in San Francisco.
