Eight more singers earned spots on Season 18 of The Voice Monday night.

John Legend landed the night’s only four-chair turn. That was earned by Thunderstorm Artis with a splendid acoustic version of “Blackbird.”

But Nick Jonas and Kelly Clarkson landed talented young female artists in Allegra Miles and Samantha Howell, respectively.

And watch out for that combination of Blake Shelton and country-rocker Joei Fulco, who displayed another of the more unique voices we met during Monday’s show.

Here’s a recap.

BEST OF THE NIGHT

Thunderstorm Artis, “Blackbird” by The Beatles: Thunderstorm’s impressive acoustic opening prompts quick chair turns from Kelly Clarkson, John Legend and Nick Jonas. Midway through, Blake turns as well, giving Thunderstorm a four-chair turn. Nick said his “vocal control was just perfect.” Kelly says Thunderstorm could win the show, especially if he puts his own twist on classic songs. John said Thunderstorm’s tone is “magical.” Thunderstorm joined Team Legend.

RUNNERS-UP

Allegra Miles, 16, St. John, U.S. Virgin Islands, “Use Somebody.” Young Allegra slipped behind the keys, showed off a unique tone and got a quick chair turn from Kelly Clarkson. Near the end of the song, Nick Jonas turned as well. Kelly likes her cool, artistic approach and called her performance beautifully done. Nick said Allegra has a chance of making the finals. Allegra joined Team Nick.

Samantha Howell, 19, Virginia Beach, Va., “Take It on the Run” by REO Speedwagon: Samantha launches into an impressive country version of the rock classic, prompting a quick chair turn from Kelly Clarkson. Blake turns too, but as suspected, was blocked by Kelly. Samantha also gets a chair turn from Nick. Kelly notes that she used her only block on Samantha. Nick calls her phenomenal. Samantha joined Team Kelly.

ALSO IMPRESSED

Cammwess, 22, Blythewood, S.C., “Earned It” by The Weeknd: His delivery and his range earned a quick chair turn from John Legend. He continued with a passionate delivery and got a last-second chair turn from Blake Shelton as well. Turns out he was auditioning the day before his 22nd birthday. Kelly called him “so talented.” John complimented him on his style and says he thinks he’ll be a force to be reckoned with on the show. Cam joined Team John.

Joei Fulco, 22, Lancaster, Calif, “Gypsys, Tramps & Thieves” by Cher: Joei launched into a bold choice with lots of grit in her voice. She also delivered a powerful ending. Blake and Nick turned late in the performance, but Nick was blocked by Blake. Kelly complimented Joei on an old-school sound. Joei said her heart is in country rock. Joei automatically becomes a member of Team Blake.

Sara Collins, 18, Dandridge, Tenn., “Johnny and June” by Heidi Newfield: Sara’s one of the first pure country artists we’ve heard in Season 18. Kelly Clarkson turned early in the performance. Followed by Nick. Sara displayed a nice country tone and strong vocals, but country coach Blake didn’t turn. Nick called it an incredible performance and compared her voice to Maren Morris. Kelly pitched her country connections and said she loves Sara’s voice. Sara decided to join Team Kelly.

Jamal Corrie, 26, San Francisco, Calif., “Be Alright” by Dean Lewis: Jamal showed off nice range and stage presence in spite of his lack of on-stage performance experience. He was about halfway through the song when Blake turned. John complimented him on a lovely voice. Blake said he has a “cool tone.”

Samuel Wilco, 39, Fort Knox, Kentucky, “Lately” by Stevie Wonder: Samuel immediately showed off nice range. As the song swelled, so did Samuel’s vocals. And he finally earned chair turns from Kelly Clarkson and Nick Jonas. And then the coaches’ chairs malfunctioned. Nick said The Voice needs a voice like his in the competition. Kelly complimented him on an excellent song choice. Samuel joined Team Nick because his children are big fans of the singer.
