In his quest for a Voice instant save last week, DeAndre Nico doubled his number of Twitter followers.

Good thing. He’s likely to need them tonight when Carson Daly gets around to naming the bottom three among The Voice Top 10.

DeAndre was the only singer among that Top 10 who didn’t crack the iTunes 200 by midnight following Monday’s performance show.

He eventually made it, landing at number 177 when voting ended at 7 a.m., but that was still a whopping 68 spots behind teammate Reagan Strange, who finished ninth among Voice contestants who charted.

And while iTunes results don’t necessarily reflect where a singer will land in the voting, it certainly isn’t a good omen for DeAndre.

What’s baffling is that Adam thought the upbeat Bruno Mars’ tune would transform into a moment for his singer badly in need of one.

Adam’s been coaching on The Voice for 15 seasons, for crying out loud. He should know by now that truly resonate with viewers are classic songs re-imagined, showy power ballads, spiritual numbers or country songs.

He would have had a better chance of creating a moment by having DeAndre cover Hank Williams, for crying out loud.

With DeAndre almost sure to land among the bottom three, the question is: Who joins him there?

Reagan should after delivering The Voice’s weakest vocal two weeks in a row. She’s also been the most streamed artist for two straight weeks, resulting in bonus votes thanks to a Voice rule change that’s on the verge of coming back to bite the show in the butt big time.

And could a Team Blake member have to sing for a save for the first time this season? If so, Dave Fenley would seem the most likely.

I know this, Sarah Grace, Kymberli Joye and Kennedy Holmes should not be singing for a save. Forced to sing early in the show, they were excellent. And whoever watched Sarah Grace’s rehearsal and decided it shouldn’t be the final performance of the night … well, they missed a chance to close the show with one of the all-time best Voice moments.

Advancing to The Voice semifinals:

* Kirk Jay of Team Blake — not surprising, and quite deserved
* Kennedy Holmes of Team Jennifer — loved her performance last night
* Chevel Shepherd of Team Kelly — won’t be surprised to see her in the finals
* MaKenzie Thomas of Team Jennifer — another power ballad, another advance
* Sarah Grace of Team Kelly — HOORAY! her performance last night was my favorite of Season 15
* Chris Kroeze of Team Blake — this dude has some avid fans, and now they’ve figured out how to play the streaming game
* Kyberli Joye of Team Kelly — another hooray, because this young woman can flat out sing

That leaves a bottom three of Dave Fenley, of Team Blake, DeAnde Nico and Reagan Strange of Team Adam.

It’s the first time all year a Team Blake singer has landed in the bottom; it’s the first time for Reagan too.

Hold it, Carson announces that Reagan will not be able to perform, but WILL STILL be eligible for a save.

Hmm, now just how does that work.

Dave performs “Amazed” for his save song, and sounds better than he did last night. DeAndre counters with “All of Me” by John Legend and does pretty well too.

Oh, my, Adam Levine just asked fans to support Reagan over DeAndre. Wow, that’s going to go over big.

In the end, he gets his wish. Reagan Strange didn’t perform but still gets the save, and it was apparently very, very close.

When The Voice took down the Twitter results graphic, Reagan had 38 percent of the vote to DeAndre’s 37.

Wow, wow, wow. Adam Levine is going to get scorched for this, and rightfully so.
