Just in time for her York Fair appearance, Lauren Alaina has released a new single.

The song is called “Next Boyfriend” and hit iTunes Friday.

“MY HEART IS SO FULL,” Lauren tweeted this morning. “Next Boyfriend is 32 on iTunes country. My fans are the best. I love y’all so much.”

Actually, the song was still climbing and had hit number 28 by 10 a.m.

Late last month, Lauren told Rodney Ho of the Atlanta Journal Constitution that the single will likely be followed by an album this fall and that she wrote 11 of the 12 songs on it.

“I feel like my first album was the practice round,” she said. “This is the real deal.”

That first album, “Wildflower,” came out way back in 2011. Between then and this month, she had released just two singles, and one of those was a Christmas song.

Now, she’s released a pair of singles in the span of a couple of weeks. You’ve likely heard a snippet of her very catchy tune “History” on ESPN’s college football promos.

Oh, and for the record, Lauren has a boyfriend. You can meet him on her Facebook page as he tries to do her makeup during Lauren’s weekly “Sealed With a Kiss” comedy bits.

And, remember, Lauren will be closing out this year’s Great Country Radio shows at the York Fair, hosted by WGTY.

Her show is set for 7 p.m. Sunday, and she’ll be performing on the Grandstand rather than the Great Country Radio stage.
