Wow, you might have to go back to Season 7, when David Cook and David Archuleta squared off for the Idol title, to find a final two who are this close. If anything, Tuesday night’s performance finale muddied the Idol waters.
Josh Kaufman, 38 at the time, began his time on The Voice by singing “One More Try” in his blind audition. He felt the song was appropriate because he was giving music one more try while contemplating that it might be time to get “a responsible job.”
Jena Irene and Caleb Johnson each took the stage three times Tuesday night. They sang a song chosen by Idol creator Simon Fuller, repeated one of their favorite songs and sang their new singles.
