Her audition: Lauren Frihauf, 16, of Byers, Colorado, performed “Come to My Window” by Melissa Etheridge. Midway through the performance, she prompted turns from Gwen and John. Gwen called Lauren her “dream person to work with” and was surprised to discover her voice came from someone so young. Lauren joined Team Gwen.

Here’s more about Lauren:

* She’s a graduate of the School of Rock program and apparently made the organization’s touring School of Rock All-Stars group in both 2018 and 2019.

* And, judging from her Instagram account, that led to a performances at Red Rocks and at the House of Blues in Vegas in the summer of 2019.

* She also participated in the 2019 Durango Songwriters Expo as a member of “a groovy duo” called Latona with Ben Suyat. You can check out their original, “Adaline,” here.

* Pre-pandemic, she was also performing as lead singer with a Denver band called Stereo and posted several of her performances with the band to YouTube, including an original called “On Call.”
