Raine Stern from The Voice Season 20

Raine Stern is among the artists to announce they auditioned for Season 20 of The Voice.

Here’s more about Raine.

* She’s from New Glarus, Wisc., and describes herself on Instagram as a songwriter, guitarist, producer and environmentalist.

* Raine recently started posting her poetry to Facebook, writing that, “if there’s anything that is who I truly am, it’s my writing.”

* She says she put one of those recent poems — “IF It Brings You Any Peace” — to music, but warns fans they won’t hear it until her third album is released.

* Then Raine quickly notes: “It’s crazy because I’m almost done with my third album and have to release the first. It’ll make sense in time I promise.”

* That said, she has released three singles — “The Martyr” (recorded live in 2018), “Practice Negligence” (2019) and “Young and Seeking Rest” (2020). Check out the latter below.

* Raine also recently posted the first in what sounded like it would be a series of podcasts featuring her and girlfriend Lydia.

* She attended Madison College for a semester before dedicating herself to music full-time, according to a story in Madison Magazine.

* Among her first band was Madtown Get Down, which also included her older brother Josh. Raine says she was performing with five other bands as well at the time. She also performed in a Prince tribute band called Purple Vein.

Editor’s note: Season 20 of The Voice is scheduled to kick off Monday, March 1 on NBC.
