I’ve been posting profiles of singers who auditioned for Season 21 of The Voice in recent weeks.
But I was unable to find enough information for individual profiles on about a dozen contestants.
So here’s a bit about each of them. I’ll follow up with a full profile once their auditions air.
* Brittany Bree: She describes herself as a mother, bold soul, confident speaker, soulful singer and worshipper on her Instagram. Her most recent singing sample on that page is from July 2019. Instagram.
* Carolina Alonso: She’s a dark-haired beauty from Reno, Nevada, who sings in English and Spanish. The only two songs on her YouTube are covers of “Pero Me Acuerdo De Ti” by Christina Aguilera and “Perfect” by Ed Sheeran. She sang the national anthem at an event at Greater Nevada Field in July 2019. On Instagram, she wrote: “Come a long way from not even wanting to sing at family parties.” Instagram. Facebook YouTube
* Chavon Rodgers: The 23-year-old from Oklahoma has been performing with worship teams, including at Central Baptist Church in Owasso. He also auditioned for Season 19 of American Idol, getting yeses from all three judges and making it to the Top 90, according to one Facebook post. His audition didn’t air, but he posted a cover of his audition song, “Make You Feel My Love,” to his YouTube channel. Instagram. YouTube.
* Gymani: She’ a soul / R&B performer with two young daughters and a slew of covers you can check out online, both on Instagram and YouTube. She’s appeared in lots of shows at the Groove Lounge in Atlanta and celebrated her return to that stage in March after having her second child. A month later, she was featured in the venue’s anniversary show. Instagram. Facebook. YouTube
* Jack Rogan: He’s an 18-year-old from Rochester, N.Y., who released a debut single, “Waiting for Connection …” to streaming sites last October. He also has dozens of covers posted to Instagram, stretching back to 2017. Instagram. YouTube.
* Paris Winningham: A U.S. Navy veteran, he wrote in December that he was working on a “comeback of epic proportions.” He sings with a number of event bands, including WHiM and the J-Crew Band. On Facebook, he writes “The most important thing to know about me is that I live to serve my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” Instagram. Facebook.
* Peedy Chavis: He’s from Atlanta and comes to the show with musical theater experience, judging from his Instagram page. He’s posted several covers to his YouTube channel, mostly covering classic singer-songwriter types like Jim Croce, Cat Stevens and Paul Simon. Instagram. YouTube.
* Sabrina Dias: She got engaged to her partner Kamila Mendes in April and they have a daughter. She shares her coming out story on YouTube, where you’ll also find recent videos of Sabrina covering a couple of Taylor Swift songs, “The Man” and “Delicate.” Instagram. YouTube.
* Shadale Johnson: She’s performed with a group called Big City Rhythm and identifies herself as a singer with The Gospel People on Facebook. her talent has apparently taken her to Germany to perform. She also has a young daughter who is featured prominently in her most recent YouTube videos. Instagram. Facebook. YouTube
* Sophia Bromberg: She’s a 16-year-old from Marin County, Calif. On her website, she says she’s been playing piano, guitar and singing since age 5. In her bio, she writes: “For me, music cultivates an environment of creative and artistic expression, enabling me to explore my identity in a unique way. Whenever I play, I experience an indescribable feeling of joy and peace that I can’t find in any other activity.” Website. Instagram.
* Vaughn Siangco Mugol: He’ll be competing as Vaughn Mugol on the show and he’s the singing nurse who’s been featured in at least one Voice promo. He’s a nurse with the CHRISTUS Southeast Texas Health System. He studied nursing as San Beda University in the Philippines. Vaughn has also traveled extensively. Oh, and he has 10,500 followers on the karaoke app Smule. Instagram. Twitter. Facebook. YouTube.
* Xavier Trinity Cornell: He appears to have posted an original called “Two Separate” to YouTube. He has another on his Instagram. And he’s a recent California high school graduate who plans to attend the Manhattan School of Music.
