Apparently, Blake Shelton and a male country artists are an unbeatable combination on The Voice.
In a stunning outcome, Bryce Leatherwood was named Season 22 champion of The Voice Tuesday night.
Conventional wisdom had the title going to Bodie oF Team Blake or Morgan Myles of Team Camila, because they’d been the strongest performers during the season.
They finished in the Top 3; The Voice didn’t reveal who finished second during the live results show.
Omar Cardona of Team Legend finished fourth and Brayden Lape of Team Blake finished fifth.
Of the Top 3, Bryce was the only one who didn’t turn four chairs in his blind audition. He turned three.
And when the voting rounds of Season 22 began, he needed a Blake Shelton save to advance from the Top 16 to the Top 13.
But he was also one of the most improved contestants during the finals weeks of the competition, making more of an emotional connection during his performances.
And the 22-year-old from 22, Statesboro, Ga.., turned in a fun performance of Travis Tritt’s “Trouble” during Monday’s final performance show.
Bryce is a graduate of Georgia Southern University in Statesboro and, pre-Voice, was front man for the Bryce Leatherwood Band, which played its first ticketed concert in May.
He has yet to release original music, unlike Bodie and Morgan Myles, both of whom have lots of original music on streaming sites.
During Tuesday’s results show, Bryce took the stage with Blake Shelton to perform his coach’s song, “Hillbilly Bone.”
The show also featured artist-coach duets for the other four finalists, which you can check out below.
Girl Named Tom, the Season 21 champs, returned for Tuesday’s finale to sing “One More Christmas,” the title track to their new holiday album.
Tuesday’s show also included guest performances from Breland, Kane Brown, Adam Lambert, One Republic, Muluma and Kelly Clarkson.
Bryce’s victory marked the ninth time in 22 seasons Blake Shelton has coached the winner of The Voice. It’s also his third win in the last five seasons having won Season 20 with Cam Anthony and Season 18 with Todd Tilghman.

“The Voice” has already announced the coaches next season.
It was announced before the finale, which states where the show’s priorities lie.
By the way, why weren’t any of the other members of the top ten allowed to perform last night?
Sooooo glad Bryce won. He is fabulous
That voice is beautiful!!!!!
