Colin Stough won the annual American Idol encore vote.
That means the third-place finisher on Season 21 will appear on Live with Kelly and Mark Tuesday moring.
He’ll get to perform his Idol-released single, “I Still Talk to Jesus,” on the show.
After Iam Tongi was crowned the Idol winner and Megan Danielle came in second, Idol fans were encouraged to vote for another member of the Top 8 to appear on the ABC show.
Colin’s win was announced on air Wednesday.
” I cannot wrap my head around all of the support and love I have been getting since being on the show and I don’t know if I’ll ever get used to it,” the 18-year-old from Gattman, Mississippi said in an Instagram message to fans.
” I can promise you all, I plan on putting in the work to make all of you proud and cannot wait to get more music out there and to get out on the road.”
As a matter of fact, Colin has posted snippets of two impressive originals to Instagram — “Grab the Reins” and “Drinking to be Fair” — in the week since the Idol finale.
As for “I Still Talk to Jesus,” the song made it into the Top 15 on the Apple Music Top 200 and climbed as high as number five on the site’s country singles chart.
“This song really hits me hard and I’m thankful for the opportunity to sing it live on TV,” Colin said.
The American Idol Encore contest has been held every year since the show moved to ABC. This marks the third time the prize has been won by the third-place finisher.

Yes that usually happens when 3 contests are as good as the 3 that were left at the end. They all are stars and around the same age . They have their whole life ahead of them .
