Jason Arcilla of The Voice Season 24

The Voice returns Monday with a coaching quartet of John Legend, Niall Horan, Gwen Stefani and Rebe McEntire.

Here’s more about Jason.

* He’s a Maui, Hawaii-based artist who’s released lots of music since 2015.

* That includes five EPs, beginning with
“Rosetta Stone” in 2015. His most recent EP was a four-song project called “Sing in Cursive” from 2021.

* This year, he’s already released three singles, including “Brimstone,” “Fearless” and “City Lights.”

* Jason also released a cover of Bob Marley’s “No Woman, No Cry” earlier this year, writing on Instagram that “every time I hear this record I think of one important thing — relationships.”

* He wound up dedicating the released to Kenny Bulliss, an old friend who had passed. Check out Jason’s version of the song below.

* An on-line profile says he’s broken fee from the “island-reggae mold” to create a saucy reggae and blues sound, marked by “dreamy guitar licks and suave vocals.”

* Jason has also performed with drummer Patrick Tavis and bass player Jon Cua as Jason Arcilla & The Rythym Sons. They released a four-song EP called “Cover Love” in 2020.

* That EP was inspired by fans who kept approaching them at live shows about where to find their music. So the trio picked four fans favorites, including “White Iverson” by Post Malone and “Clocks” by Coldplay to put on an EP.

* In a Mana’o at Home podcast, Jason says he spent time in L.A. pursuing music while working for Fed Ex before deciding to return to Maui in hopes of making music a full-time endeavor. It worked. At the time of the interview in September 2020, he’d been playing music full-time for about four years.

* In addition to guitar, he plays base, drums and also produces music.

* He also enjoys surfing, writing on Instagram: “Surfing simply makes me a better human being and that is all — internal globe code.”
