Blake Proehl, the young man who turned to music after suffering a gruesome football injury, released a song called “Closure.”
Blake, 24, at the time of his Idol tryout, was accompanied to his audition by his grandmother, one of the biggest supporters of his musical endeavors.
During the Season 22 premiere, he dazzled the judges with his version of Brett Young’s “In Case You Didn’t Know.” Katy Perry labeled him Top 10 material.
Of his new song, Blake says: “I wrote this song for anyone who has ever been heartbroken or left without answers.”
He released the song through Groundwork Records and joined fellow Idol standouts KB Richins and Abi Carter in dropping singles on Friday.
But while Blake had released a good bit of music before, those songs are the debut singles for Abi and KB. KB released her song under her full first name, Kaibrienne.
Kaibrienne serves up heart-wrenching vocals on “Girl I Am Now” while Abi delivers a feel-good spring vibe on “It’s All Love.”
Do yourself a favor and check them out. I had both of those songs playing on repeat when they were released at midnight.
Snippets of all three songs follow.
