Torre Blake of The Voice Season 26

Torre Blake of The Voice Season 26

Her audition: Torre Blake, Austin, Texas, “On and On”: She started off the song displaying silky and soulful vocals. That enticed a chair turn from Snoop Dogg. Gwen Stefani joined him midway through the performance. Michael loved her voice, but said he didn’t want to go head to head with Snoop Dogg to land her. Gwen liked her airy tone. Snoop said she’s smooth, just like him, and that her voice was “comforting to my ears.” Torre decided to join Team Snoop.

Here’s more about Torre.

* She’s a 31-year-old R&B singer-songwriter from Austin, Texas.

* She’s now based in Los Angeles and has already released a good deal of music, including about a dozen singles and a six-song 2021 EP called “Love is Real.”

* But growing up, her focus was more on sports than music, Torre explains in a profile on Voyage Dallas.

* Her dad and uncle were professional athletes and Torre landed a volleyball scholarship to East Carolina University.

* Though she’d dabbled with songwriting in high school and continued to do so in college, “everyone didn’t even know that I sang or wrote music,” she says. “They just knew me as Torre the volleyball player.”

* After college, she set about changing that and said her athletic background wound up proving beneficial. “I would not have the same decision and determination if I wasn’t an athlete first.”

* The Torre Blake music currently available on streaming sites dates back to 2018. And in 2022, she moved to L.A. to pursue her musical ambitions.

* She wrote about that in a song called “So Glad,” her most popular to date with more than 77,000 streams on Spotify.

* Torre describes the song as being about “finding the beauty in the hard times, about making a new home and starting down a new path.” You can check it out below.

* She’s also released music videos for songs called “Sweet Kisses” and “Pipedream.” * Her most recent release is a song she co-wrote called “Brave.” It dropped in January.

* “Music really, really fuels me,” she said in an interview with a hometown TV station. “I know for me, I would rather take this path and go through the ups and downs and be doing what I love.”
