Megan Danielle, Marybeth Byrd and Laine Hardy, former American Idol contestants, have new singles out.

Catching up on new releases from singers we met on American Idol.

Megan Danielle has released her first single since finishing runner-up to Iam Tongi on Season 21. It’s a Christian single called “When I Found You.” Says Danielle: “I am just in awe of this song. …
It’s a song about restoration and healing. I hope it helps you with whatever struggles or challenges you’re facing.” She wrote the song with Jason Ingram, and Ethan Hulse. Megan was also recently featured on a Sidewalk Prophets’ single called “Looking Up” that already has more than 200,000 streams on Spotify. And she just completed the Walk with Jesus tour with Consumed by FIre. Congrats also go out to Megan on her planned marriage next year.

Marybeth Byrd, Top 10 on the same season of Idol, released a superb singer-songwriter single called “October Woods” last month. And she’s prepared to drop an EP — “Funny how it always seems to rain” — as an independent artist later this month. She calls the latest single “a full representation of my artistry as I sit in my year of experiencing 23.” “October Woods” is her second single of 2024, following “Grey Like You.” And congrats to Marybeth on getting engaged last month.

Laine Hardy, the Season 17 champ, released a new single called “Songs About You” earlier this month. The song was written by Noby Sidez and Rose Falcon and marks Laine’s third single since September. The others are “That Man” and “Dancing on the Moon,” each of which have more than 200,000 streams on Spotify. Laine, 24, also announced other big news this fall. He’s engaged to Jordan Gautreau and they’re expecting a baby in 2025.
