“He could have just won the show with him.”

That was Reba McEntire’s reaction when Sofronio Vasquez decided to join Team Michael Buble on the season premiere of The Voice.

The comment came after Sofronio dazzled the coaches, turning all four chairs with his blind audition rendition of “I’m Going Blind” by Mary J. Blige.

The a 31-year-old from the Philippines is now based in Utica, N.Y. And he’s one of five finalists who will be competing for The Voice title Monday night at 8 p.m.

A veteran of singing competitions back home, Sofronio has three songs on streaming sites, the most recent being a song called “Shine” from 2022.
