His audition: Ethan Eckenrode of Roaring Spring, Pa., performed “Northern Attitude” by Noah Kahan. His impressive opening prompted quick chair turns from Adam Levine and Kelsea Ballerini. By the time the song ended, all four coaches were facing in his direction. Adam said Ethan’s voice is his favorite so far in the blind auditions. Kelsea said his performances marked the first time this season she felt like she was turning for someone performing at his show. John loved the soulfulness of his voice. Ethan joined Team Adam.

* In his website bio, he describes himself as “a modern folk singer-songwriter” from the Pennsylvania Appalachians area. He’s now based in Roaring Spring, Pa.

* He spent seven years working as music director and worship leader for a church, that bio indicates.

* The church shut down in 2022, which is when Ethan turned his musical focus toward songwriting.

* Ethan released his first two songs in 2024, “Barabbas” and “Haunting Me.” Both are available on streaming sites. Check out “Barabbas” below.

* And on Jan. 31, Ethan released a self-titled EP with the help of producer Brent Michael Stewart. It includes the two aforementioned singles and three additional songs.

* Says Ethan: “After a ton of time spent in my home studio and a lot of frustrating hours spent recording things I hated, I figured it was time to hire a professional wizard. I can’t even begin to tell you how excited I am about this project!.”

* Ethan and his wife Elizabeth also welcomed their first child, a daughter named Josephine, in 2024.

* According to his Voice bio, Ethan grew up in a musical household. His mother played piano; his sisters were also into music.
