After The Voice

Caroline Glaser, Crystal Bowersox head to area, new music in tow

Caroline Glaser from Season 4 of The Voice. I reported earlier that area music fans were in for a double treat later this month.

Former American Idol runner-up Crystal Bowersox is visiting the area. And she’s bringing along Caroline Glaser, a Season 4 standout on The Voice.

What’s more, both have recently released fine new music.

The two singer-songwriters have a Sunday, Nov. 16, show at World Cafe Live in Philly. Tickets are $27.50, and you can head here for more information.

Two nights later, Caroline and Crystal will play the Baltimore Soundstage. Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 on the day of the show. Head here for details.

As for that new music …

Following a successful Pledge Music campaign, Caroline recently released her second post-Voice EP. The six-track effort is called “Better Days.”

You can check out full-length versions of all the songs on Caroline’s YouTube channel. Be sure to check out standout tracks “By the Bay,” “I Tried” and “Morning Light.” Heck, for reader ease, I’ve embedded the latter below.

Caroline, from St. Louis, was 19 when she auditioned for The Voice. She advanced to the live playoffs before being eliminated and scored an iTunes hit with her cover of “The A Team.”

Crystal released an EP called “Promises” in September. The seven tracks are full of highlights, including the sassy “How Long,” during which she belts out the line “I’m from Ohio, not American Idol.”

She finished second on Season 9 of Idol behind Lee DeWyze.
