Last week, Joshua Davis, Rob Taylor and DeAnna Johnson had the weakest performing songs on iTunes.
Guess who landed in the bottom three?
But today, the songs were grouped so tightly on iTunes — everyone landed in the Top 50 on the singles chart — you have to wonder if the pattern will continue.
Here are my hunches on what takes place when the results come in.
Not a care in the world: Three weeks of finals, three Top 10 iTunes finishes for Sawyer Fredericks, who is looking more and more like the runaway Season 8 champ.
Shouldn’t have to worry: A week after needing an instant save to survive, Joshua Davis went back to what he does best and landed in bonus points territory on iTunes. And Kimberly Nichole is just too superb a singer to send home yet.
Very likely safe: The country fans keep voting for Corey Kent White, even though I thought he fell way short of the moment Blake Shelton thought Corey delivered last night.
Probably have to worry: Meghan Linsey, India Carney and Koryn Hawthorne were bunched between #27 and #35 on iTunes when voting ended at noon. That’s too close for any of them to take advancing for granted.
Will need a save to survive: And Hannah Kirby had the weakest performance on iTunes (#42 on the singles chart), though it was a personal best. She’ll almost certainly for singing for her life as Tuesday’s show winds down.
If I had my way: Koryn and Meghan would be voted to safety along with Sawyer, Joshua and Kimberly. And the instant save would go to India or Hannah.
Check back at 8 p.m. when I’ll be live blogging the results show and providing song by song grades for those save-me numbers.
