The Voice and Carrie Underwood nabbed Teen Choice awards in a show broadcast Sunday night on FOX.
The Voice won for favorite reality TV show. Other nominees were American Idol, Dance Moms, KUWTK, Lip Sync Battle and
MasterChef Junior.
Carrie took a pair of honors, for favorite country song (“Little Toy Gun”) and favorite country honors. Other nominees in the latter category included Blake Shelton, Miranda Lambert, Luke Bryan, Florida Georgia Line and Hunter Hayes.
If you follow the Teen Choice Awards, you know they dole out honors for teen favorite in movies, TV and music in a wide range of categories, including favorite lip lock.
Other winners with a singing show connection included:
* Nicki Minaj as favorite R&B/Hip-hop artist;
* Ellen DeGeneres as favorite comedian;
* Britney Spears as style icon;
* Fifth Harmony — the all-female group created during the second season of The X Factor for favorite female group, favorite summer song (“Worth It”) and female hottie.
