Billboard announced today that Jordan’s debut album, “Something Beautiful,” landed at number two on the Billboard 200 for the week of April 9.
That’s the result of sales of 54,000 copies of his album.
Both are tops ever for a post-show release from a contestant on The Voice.
Previously, Melanie Martinez had the best Billboard 200 debut, number six for her “Cry Baby” album released last year.
Cassadee Pope held the record for first-week sales, moving 43,000 copies of her 2013 album, “Frame by Frame.”
Jordan’s album was also completed in record time; it was released March 18, just three months after his victory on The Voice.
Of course, that was easier since eight of the 12 tracks on the album are covers, including Jordan’s versions of songs like “Amazing Grace,” “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” and “You Are So Beautiful.”
Among the four originals are the lead single, “Stand in the Light” and a Jordan co-write called “Settle.”
The only person to finish ahead of Jordan on the Billboard 200 — Voice coach Gwen Stefani, who moved 84,000 copies of her album “What the Truth Feels Like.” It marks her first number one album as a solo artist.
