What is Project Sugar Rush?
Well, it’s a cleverly designed Indiegogo campaign designed to raise $40,000 over more toward to help fund that album.
Only a few days after launching the campaign, the 2Steel Girls are already more than a quarter of the way toward reaching their initial goal.
If you don’t recall, 2Steel Girls are Krystal Steel and her mom Allison, who won a spot as a country duo on Season 3 of The Voice.
They didn’t last long on the show — they address that in a funny little ditty at the opening of their campaign video — but they’ve released some fine music since in the form of a pair of EPs, “Train Wreck” and “Red, White and Blue Girls.”
The latter came out last year and features a rousing country-rocker called “Cheap Motel” and a great ballad called “The Devil Leads.”
The new album will be called “The Real Thing.” It will be available digitally and on vinyl.
Heck, if the campaign reaches its stretch goals, the album might even be accompanied by a comic book.
Heck, fans who donate $500 can even wind up with their face on the cover of the album.
You can check out that video and all the rewards here.
