Three more talented singers who landed spots on Season 13 of The Voice got the montage treatment during the episode that aired Monday night.
So Voice Views talked to Natalie Stovall, Ryan Scripps and Katrina Rose about their blind auditions during a Tuesday conference call with the media.
Natalie, 35, performed “If It Hadn’t Been for Love” by The Steeldrivers, a Nashville-based bluegrass band that used to feature country star Chris Stapleton as their lead singer.
“It was my very first introduction to Chris Stapleton’s voice,” Natalie said of the song. “I love the song. It’s unique and I thought it represented me, my voice and me as an artist. I play fiddle on it when I sing the song live.
“It was such an incredible experience,” she added of her blind audition. “The whole time — I’m a country singer from Nashville — and I was just visualizing Blake turning around. And he’s the one that turned around.
“All four of the coaches had beautiful things to say; they were all very encouraging.”
Natalie’s been making music for a while now as Natalie Stovall and The Drive. In fact, her two EPs and stand-alone singles with the group represent some of the best pre-Voice music you’re going to hear.
Ryan Scripps has original music out too, including an impressive debut solo EP called “Everything But Her” from 2016.
For his blind audition, he said “Body Like a Backroad,” the smash hit from Sam Hunt.
“It just kind of shows who I am as an artist,” said Ryan, 24. “Sam Hunt is more the pop modern country artist, and that’s more the route I’ve been taking the past few years since I started pursuing this as a career.
“It’s just a fun song. I have a lot of fun singing it. I can relate to it. It’s one of my girlfriend’s favorites too, so I kind of did it for her as well.
“All I needed was one chair to turn,” he added. “Even better that was Blake being the only one because he’s the one coach I was going to go towards from the very beginning.”

Katrina Rose, 34, of Durham, N.C., has a varied music background that includes a stint on Broadway as Tracy Turnblad in “Hairspray,” playing Janis Joplin in a tribute to the legendary singer and singing with Joe Iconis’ theatrical rock shows.
Oh, and did I mention that she’s a kickboxing instructor?
Katrina auditioned with “Kozmic Blues,” by Janis, of course.
“She has been a huge influence on my singing and my style for a long time,” Katrina said. “I just think she is one of the original greats.
“I just really wanted a song that said something — that made you feel that guttural, soul-clenching something. I just think that’s what music is about — being that universal language that speaks across all cultures, all societies, all ethic backgrounds, all economic backgrounds, something that brings people together. I really wanted a song that would speak to people.
“I’m sad more didn’t air. Miley was really stoked to have somebody really different on her team. I’m excited to be Team Miley, so far an all-girl team, which is really cool.”
Oh, and don’t forget, you can check out — and download — those cover songs we didn’t hear Monday night from iTunes.
