Dylan Gerard made one of the quietest exits from The Voice in the history of the show.

His knockout round match with eventual finalist Jon Mero was montaged. We didn’t get to hear Dylan sing a note. We didn’t even learn what he sang.

His battle round match was also montaged, but we did hear Dylan deliver an impressive versin of “Say You Won’t Let Me Go” in the blind auditions, turning two chairs in the process.

The former lead singer for Florida-based folk-pop band Don’t Sigh Daisy was a member of Team Adam Levine during his time on The Voice.

Here’s what Dylan told Voice Views about his time on the show and his music moving forward.

Voice Views: We didn’t get to see your knockout performance, or even hear what you were singing. Can you fill us in a bit on what we missed?

Dylan: I sang Ed Sheeran’s All of the Stars. I heard it right before going into the knockout rounds and learned it. I love the song and had a great time making it my own. I made it a little more guitar driven and tried to throw as much of myself and my emotions into it. I also got bronchitis close to the performance, so that was cool. I was able to recover though and didn’t feel as though it affected the performance.

Voice Views: I know the knockout round was filmed a while ago. What have you been doing musically since then?

Dylan: I have been writing, recording, setting up some different social media platforms, creating YouTube content to release, and trying to put together as many shows as possible.

Voice Views: You come from a band background thanks to Don’t Sigh Daisy. What do you see in store for yourself musically after The Voice? Do you have anything planned or in the works in terms of new music?

Dylan: I would love to continue to create music and to be able to support myself doing it. I’m currently working on and recording new music. The plan is to create good, meaningful content, release it, and play it to as many people as possible.

Voice Views: Other than the other artists you met and the hometown support, what will you remember most about The Voice experience? Do you think you grew as a musician? And, if so, how?

Dylan: I’ll remember the compliments and encouragement given from the coaches and being on the stage, surrounded by the music and audience, and just being in that moment doing something I love. I think I grew more as a vocalist than I did a musician. It helped me to put down my instrument and focus on my voice; my inflections, my range, runs, and dynamics.
