Miley Cryus said that, had Chloe stayed on her team, she was thinking about having her sing a Bonnie Tyler song.
Turns out everyone was right.
But no one got it more right than Chloe, who delivered a riveting performance of “Total Eclipse of the Heart” to close Monday’s Top 11 show on The Voice.
How well received was it?
The clock hadn’t even hit midnight on the East Coast and the song was already number one on iTunes difficult to scale pop chart and in the Top 10 on the overall singles chart.
By midnight it was number one on the overall singles chart as well. Wow.
It was still sitting there when voting ended at noon eastern time, making Chloe the first artist in Season 13 to hit number one on the overall singles chart.
And if topping the overall singles chart and the pop singles chart with “Total Eclipse” wasn’t enough, Chloe’s previous performance of “Landslide” rebounded to number one on the rock singles chart.
Three number ones after one show? On three different charts? I don’t think I’ve seen that before from a Voice contestant.
But Chloe wasn’t the only singer with reason to celebrate. Addison Agen cracked the Top 10 on iTunes for the second straight week. And so did Red Marlow, who overcame poor show placement — singing second — to hit number one on the country singles chart and the Top 10 on the overall singles chart.
All three of those contestants earned bonus points — five times their iTunes downloads — in the process.
Here’s where all the songs stood when voting ended at noon.
