Blake Shelton promised to make R&B singer Davison the centerpiece of his team. He lost him to Adam Levine.
Blake made an impassioned plea to land gritty Americana singer Molly Stevens. He lost her to Kelly Clarkson.
He shared visions of unicorns and Care Bears with teenage singer-songwriter Jaclyn Lovey. He lost her to Alicia Keys.
But after Pryor Baird became just the second singer to turn four chairs in Season 14 — doing it with his rendition of a Ray Charles’ classic — Blake landed the most coveted singer of the evening.
Here’s a recap of Tuesday’s show. For a look at how the singers are doing on iTunes, head here.
THE BEST
1. Pryor Baird, 35, Old Orchard, Calif.
The song: “I Don’t Need No Doctor” by Ray Charles
The chair turns: Adam Levine turned early in the performance and all the other coaches followed, making Pryor just the second singer from Season 14 to earn a four-chair turn.
The performance: How’d he do it? With some great guitar playing to kick off the performance, followed by the most intense, soulful vocal we heard all evening.
The outcome: He picked Blake, who complimented his on his “weathered” sound. Said Blake: “It sounds like you smoked a pack of cigarettes a drank a bottle of whiskey right before you got on stage.”
2. Molly Stevens, 34, Raleigh, N.C.
The song: “Heavenly Day” by Patti Griffin
The chair turns: It only took a couple of notes for Molly to earn chair turns from Kelly Clarkson and Blake Shelton.
The performance: Molly displayed great power and a really nice rasp. The only surprise was that more coaches didn’t turn for her gritty performance.
The outcome: She opted to join Team Kelly.
THE REST (in no particular order)
Davison, 23, Little Rock, Ark.
The song: “To Love Somebody” by Bee Gees
The chair turns: He prompted quick chair turns from Adam Levine and Blake Shelton.
The performance: Davison turned those chairs with a really nice opening — he had even reached the chorus yet — then heard lots of praise. Adam said he thinks he can win the show; Blake said Davison would be a centerpiece of his team.
The outcome: Davison joined Team Adam.
Dylan Hartigan, 21, Wyckoff, N.J.
The song: “Danny’s Song” by Loggins and Messina
The chair turns: Dylan was almost to the very end of the performance before Kelly turned around.
The performance: Kelly kept telling the other coaches Dylan’s version of the song was pretty, and it was. A lack of dynamics might have been the reason no one else turned, but Dylan also showed off impressive range near the end of his performance.
The outcome: He automatically became a member of Team Kelly.
Jaclyn Lovey, 16, Placerville, Calif.
The song: “Can’t Help Falling in Love” by Elvis Presley
The chair turns: No one turned until the second half of the performance, when Blake Shelton and Alicia Keys turned around almost simultaneously.
The performance: The slow chair turns were surprising considering Jaclyn’s very pretty rendition of the classic tune. But Blake made up for it by proclaiming he pictured himself riding a unicorn and holding a Care Bear while Jaclyn was singing. Alicia said she appreciated Jaclyn sweet and simple approach to the classic tune.
The outcome: Jaclyn picked Alicia.
No Chair Turns
Sophia Dion, 17, Park City, Utah
Song: “What a Man” bY Linda Lyndell

Pryor Baird is just an unbelievable talent! You have that right! He is clearly destined to not only win The Voice, but move untold amounts of people with his music!!!
The name of his town however is not Old Orchard however…it is Old Orcutt. 🙂
