That means each will sing a save-me song in hopes of getting fans’ instant save on Twitter.
Those results are not a surprise. They were two of the three singers who failed to crack the Top 200 on iTunes today.
Now I’ll grade the save-me performances.
D.R. King, “Pappa Was a Rolling Stone”: D.R. changed this up pretty dramatically. Not sure I’m loving the arrangement, but it’s doing three things: allowing him to command the stage, allowing him to show off his power vocals and allowing him to show off his fabulous range. Grade: B
Rayshun LaMarr, “I Can’t the Rain”L Working up to a frantic ending has become Rayshun’s trademark, and he did it again during that performance. It was a bit much for me. I think D.R. comes off a bit more natural and fluid on stage. Still, both of these guys are very vocally talented. Grade: B–
And the instant save goes to Rayshun. He was leading by a 63 percent to 37 percent margin when The Voice took down the voting results.
