Since Monday night, followers of American Idol have taken to Twitter to voice their frustration over the elimination of Ada Vox.

Just search Ada Vox on Twitter and you’ll find scores and scores of comments blaming Ada’s ouster on the fact that American wouldn’t support a drag queen.

Without doubt one of the biggest voices on the show, Ada (aka Adam Sanders) needed a judges’ save to make it to Monday’s Top 10 show.

And despite another performance praised by the judges, Ada was among three singers eliminated when Ryan Seacrest announced the results at the end of the show.

Now Ada is asking fans for respect for the show’s remaining singers.

“Please remain respectful to the remaining contestants,” Ada wrote on Instagram this evening. “They have all earned their spot and we all have the same dream.”

Ada promises fans they will be hearing and seeing more “very soon.”

“My American Idol journey may have come to an end, but the real competition begins now. From here, it’s all a competition to see who will really climb to the top,” Ada wrote, adding thanks to fans for their support.

The American Idol Top 7 take the stage again Sunday. This week, two contestants will be eliminated, leaving the show with a Top 5.
