Now 19, Wé released a song called “Head Up High” last month.
The song’s empowerment theme goes hand-in-hand with her new children’s book, “The Little Girl with a Big Voice,” which encourages children to embrace what makes them unique.
And now she’s just released the music video for “Head Up High,” which you can check out below.
During her time on The Voice, Wé talked about being bullied in school because of her high speaking voice and the thick glasses she wore.
Delivering an anti-bullying and empowerment message is especially important now, with children growing up in the age of social media. something she didn’t have to deal with as much as a child.
“We need to teach kids that you don’t have to be a victim,” she said in a recent interview with NBC 6 in Miami, Fla.
Wé was 17 when she auditioned for The Voice and turned four chairs with a cover of “Feeling Good.”
She wound up finishing third behind only Sundance Head and Billy Gilmore.
Here’s “Head Up High.”
