Specifically, he talked about how excited he was about the project because the new album will include more songs he helped write than his post-Voice debut.
Well, he just released the lead single from the album, a song called “Only Love.”
And, yep, it’s one he wrote, with assists from Nashville-based songwriters Sam Ellis and Blair Daly.
“The song ‘Only Love’ is my baby,” the Season 9 Voice champ says. “I love this song. It means so much to me.
“This song happened really naturally,” Jordan adds. “We went into the writing room that day and we said, ‘Let’s just try to write something beautiful. It doesn’t have to be a certain tempo. It doesn’t have to fit a certain mold.’ And this is what came out of it.”
Jordan previously indicated the full album will be out later this year.
His post-Voice debut, “Something Beautiful,” became one of the most successful post-Voice releases ever, debuting at number two on the Billboard 200.
But that album, released in the spring of 2016, included several covers and only one song Jordan helped write.
Oh, and the timing of the new single is appropriate. Jordan and his wife, Kristen, just celebrated their second anniversary.
Here’s “Only Love.”
