She threw both shoes following Sandy Redd’s blistering blind audition rendition of “River,” which aired Tuesday night.
And Jennifer still failed to land the 35-year-old singer from Chicago for her team.
Instead, Sandy — just the third contestant to turn all four coaches chairs so far in Season 15 — decided to join Team Kelly Clarkson.
Admitting that she was leaning toward Jennifer heading into the audition — after all, they’re both from Chicago — Sandy explained her decision during a conference call with the media.
She liked that Kelly complimented the rock and soul in her performance. After, Sandy’s genre is rock-soul.
She liked the fact that Kelly said she wouldn’t try to confine her to a musical box.
But most of all, she liked one of Kelly’s final comments
“She said that she didn’t care who I picked because she just wanted to see me move on in the actual show,” Sandy recalled. “(That) just showed me that she was coming from a very genuine, very selfless place. And I just felt like everything she was saying to me led me to her.”
But what led Sandy to The Voice in Season 15?
After all, she’s been performing for years and even released an EP called “Red Fever” last summer.
“I have been performing for quite some time,” she told Voice Views. “But when I first started, I was very green, I was very nervous, I had no showmanship and I was all over the place. I had no look. I was just not ready. I was extremely afraid.
“But my desire to sing was bigger than my fears so I started doing open mics and karaoke or anything I could get my hands on music-wise and just started, you know, preparing from there.
“And I felt like from then until now — I feel like I’m ready now. So when the opportunity to do The Voice came about, it just felt like the right time.”

The blind auditions resume Monday on NBC.

Kelly umade a wrong decision on Sandy She out sang an performed thar guy He was afraid to move in fear of losing his key Are u purposely
keeping female singers out especially who out sing u? Sandy is the whole packet Those 2 young girls r just common average singing girls Sandy is the full packet She’s in a category all by herself Shes gonna b a star now anyway because she now has been exposed to the world Evan a racist would vote for her singing Is it her age The guy had a very beautiful voice an Sandy was holding bk being polite trying to harmony as a team player if I were there Id remind Sandy this is a competition go ahead an cut ur competition head OFF
Big mistake letting Sandy Redd go…people hungry for her new sound. My first time looking at the voice and my last time…oh well power is in the hands of the beholder.
It seems that sometimes and mainly the best singers are sent home and the lesser ones still mainly with talent stay on. I’m surprised someone didn’t steal her ! I didn’t watch so but maybe a music producer behind the scenes wanted her.
I think sometimes they purposefully let them go early because they’re getting signed with a recording or acting deal . There’s more to the show than we see.
Hmm, The Voice has had nearly 900 contestants in 18 seasons. If you could name a dozen non-country acts currently signed to record deals, I’d be surprised.
In the song “River”, she was stunning
A great talent that was born
