A look back at Kennedy Holmes’ performances on The Voice

Kennedy Holmes is already the youngest singer to make it to The Voice finale.

Tuesday night, the just-turned 14-year-old will try to usurp Brynn Cartelli as the youngest winner in the show’s 15 seasons.

What has continually amazed the coaches on The Voice is the composure and maturity Kennedy has displayed at such a young age.

During an interview earlier this season, she credited that to her pre-show experience performing in musicals at the
St. Louis Municipal Theater. She debuted there in 2015.

“It’s an outdoor theater that seats 11,000 people, and I have to perform in front of them all,” Kennedy said. “If it wasn’t for my experience at the MUNY, my stage presence wouldn’t be as strong as it is today.”

Of course, it was her voice — not her stage presence — that prompted all four coaches to turn for her blind audition cover of Adele’s “Turning Tables.”

That was an early sign that Kennedy, who opted to join Team Jennifer Hudson, was a contestant to watch in Season 15. She was one of only four singers to earn a four-chair turn in the blinds.
