A week after The Voice’s Great Bathrobe Controversy, Adam Levine is out of the show’s finale.

Again.

Reagan Strange, his final contestant, the 14-year-old he pleaded on behalf of last week at the expense of DeAndre Nico, was eliminated Tuesday night.

That means The Voice finale will be without a representative of Team Adam for the second straight season.

In fact, Adam’s in quite a slump as a coach on the show.

In Season 14, he also got just one singer to the semifinal (Rayshun LaMarr).

And while he’s chalked up the second most wins as a coach on The Voice (3), his last came with Jordan Smith in Season 9.

In the six seasons since then, Adam has gotten just five singers to the finale. Twice, they’ve finished second (Billy Gilman in Season 11 and Addison Agen in Season 13).

By contrast, check out the number for his Voice coaching rival, Blake Shelton.

Since Season 10, Blake has taken 10 singers to the finale, twice as many. He’s won twice, with Sundance Head in Season 11 and Chloe Kohanski in Season 13. He’s also had singers finish second twice (Adam Wakefield in Season 12 and Lauren Duski in Season 12).

Next week, he’s likely to add to that string of impressive finishers by Blake Shelton coached singers.

As for Reagan, she could have helped her coach’s case by turning in finale-quality performances this week.

It didn’t happen. Her top eight performance was the night’s weakest solo.

Her save-me performance on Tuesday resulted in a deserved trouncing in the Twitter vote that followed.

And confirmed that, while he wasn’t likely to advance to the finals, DeAndre was the better singer and performer to take into Top 8 night.

Oh, and for the record, DeAndre cast save votes for all three artists singing for one at the end of Tuesday’s show — MaKenzie Thomas, Kennedy Holmes and Reagan.

He had the artists this season to make a real run for the finale – Radha, DeAndre – but sadly misused them. Maybe next year.
