Jaclyn Lovey has released her second EP since appearing on Season 14 of The Voice.

Jaclyn Lovey, a Season 14 contestant on The Voice, started 2019 off in style, releasing an EP and a music video.

The EP is called “Out of September.” And if the title seems odd given the timing … well, Jaclyn explains.

“Out of September was created this last autumn,” she told Voice Views. “I was living in Los Angeles and there’s a particular feeling that went along with conceiving this EP. I wanted to call it Out of September since it seemed to sum up my time in L.A., everything I’ve learned and how I want to move forward in my life.”

The three-song EP includes “Canada Boy,” which also became a music video.

Jaclyn said the song stemmed from a conversation with a Canadian friend. When she asked him what his perfect world would be like, he drew a blank.

“It frustrated me enough to sit down and write about what I think would be a perfect world for him,” she said.

“Canada Boy is a bit unlike everything I’ve ever done. It’s very jazzy and upbeat. An anthem of happiness, but with the acceptance of struggle along with that. Whenever I heard the song, I saw tons of movement and liveliness. I wanted to bring that to life in a video.”

You can check out that video below. And be sure to check out Jaclyn’s great vocal on the EP closing ballad, “Arkansas River.”

“Out of September” marks her second EP since she auditioned for Season 14 at age 16. She released “Half Past Noon,” a six-song collection, back in October.
