“This Is It” tops the Billboard Country Airplay chart this week, moving up from number two a week ago.

The song is a followup to “Seasons Change,” which also hit number one and sparked a career resurgence for the Season 10 winner of American Idol.

Scotty wrote “Seasons Change” about the passing of his grandfather. “This Is It” is equally personal, a song he wrote with Frank Rogers and Aaron Eshuis for then girlfriend Gabi Dugal shortly before proposing to her.

Scotty sang the song at their June wedding, and the music video — which you can check out below — features clips from that event. The video, by the way, has racked up more than 34 million views.

“If the song existed solely for she and I, that would be completely fine with me. But to have our story on the radio and then reach No. 1 on the Billboard chart just makes my heart sing,” Scotty told Billboard.

“Gabi is my world, she inspires me every day, and I think people can feel the realness of our love story when they listen to the song and watch the video. The fact that so many couples are now using ‘This’ in their own weddings gives me chills.”

The song has also cracked the Top 5 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. And Scotty’s “Seasons Change” album, which hit number one upon its release, is still in the Top 20 on the Billboard Country Albums chart 22 weeks after its release.
