Eliminated in a battle round that aired earlier this month on The Voice, the 29-year old songwriter will release an EP called “Stronger” on April 16.
It’s already available for pre-order on iTunes. Rizzi has launched an accompanying fund-raiser that had nearly reached its goal in just two days.
And she’s scheduled an album release party for Friday, April 19 at Lifted Spirits Live in Kansas City.
The EP will mark the first for Rizzi since she released a five-song project called “Freedom” in February 2017.
Rizzi earned a spot on Team Kelly Clarkson on The Voice after turning three chairs with her blind audition performance of “Breathing” by Ariana Grande.
Here’s what she told Voice Views about her time on the show and her new music.
Voice Views: The battle round was filmed in January. What have you been doing in terms of music or the entertainment industry since then? Has there been a specific post-Voice experience that stands out so far?
Rizzi: I have been working on a new album, “Stronger EP,” that includes 6 songs and will be released on April 16th on all platforms. The love from all the fans has been unreal! They really have my back and it shows.
Voice Views: Where do you see your time on the show leading you musically? What do you have planned next? Do you think you’ll be releasing new music in the future and, if so, what can fans expect in terms of sound/timing?
Rizzi: The show has inspired me to keep pursuing artistry. I don’t want to just be a writer. I’m trying to release music and merchandise as soon as possible.
Voice Views: Do you think you grew as an artist as a result of The Voice experience? If so, in what way?
Rizzi: The Voice definitely gave me more confidence and a huge fan base. I want to chase being an artist more than ever now.
Voice Views: Is there anything else you’d like to add about your experience on the show?
Rizzi: I love all the new friends I’ve made. I’m very blessed and thankful for the opportunity!
