Kanard Thomas failed to turn a chair during The Voice Season 16 blind auditions.

But he’s now the Season 16 Comeback Stage champ.

That means he’ll get a chance to return to the live show next Tuesday night.

He’ll sing for the first Twitter save of Season 16. His opponent — here comes about gimmick from the show that never, ever, ever tires of gimmicks — will be someone eliminated during the just completed cross battles.

In the Bebe Rexha-coached Comeback Stage finale, Kanard squared off against Ciera Dumas.

And I thought Ciera might have the edge. The 21-year-old from Kernersville, N.C., had turned two chairs during the blind auditions before landing on the Comeback Stage.

And she picked an emotional song to perform during the finals, Bonnie Raitt’s “I Can’t Make You Love Me.”

Kanard, 28, of Jacksonville, Fla., countered with “All My Life” by K-Ci and JoJo. And he delivered a flawless vocal.

He started by displaying a rich tone, got stronger when the song hit the chorus, then delivered an impressive ending, keeping the vocal frills to a tasteful minimum.

And when the singing ended, Bebe rewarded Kanard with a well-deserved victory.
