And it wasn’t that she’s now engaged to fellow Season 16 contestant Cade Foehner.
Gabby announced that she’s now a Warner Brothers / Nashville artist.
And one suspects her latest single, “I Hope,” the song she performed on Idol, might have something to do with that.
“I Hope,” which Gabby co-wrote, has racked up 3 million streams on Spotify, in spite of being an independent release.
It’s also made its way onto the Billboard Hot Country singles chart, climbing as high as 37.
Sunday, before Gabby took the stage, the song was number 18 on the iTunes country singles chart and nowhere to be found among the Top 200.
By midnight?
The song was number six on iTunes country singles chart and number 28 overall.
Nice going, Gabby.
And nice going, Idol, for bringing her back to perform.
