What’s more, the entire coaching quartet will be back, including Blake Shelton, Adam Levine, Kelly Clarkson and John Legend.
The press release from NBC announcing the move, however, leaves open the biggest question.
What tweaks will the show make to its format for Season 17?
Will the Season 17 schedule mimic Season 16? Or will The Voice return to the old format with live finals that last at least five weeks?
Will the knockouts return, or will the the cross battles be back?
And what about the manner in which artists advance? Will the format allow one team to dominate, the way Team Blake has this spring?
I’m not surprised The Voice hasn’t answered those questions yet.
But contestants deserve those answers before taping of the blind auditions begin.
And, quite honestly, Voice fans deserve those answers before investing their time in another season.
