It’s called “New Eyes,” is accompanied by a music video and it quickly jumped into the Top 30 on iTunes singles chart.
As of 7 p.m. Wednesday evening, it was still at number 27.
And we’ll get to see Adam perform the song live Sunday night on the American Idol finale.
Adam’s upcoming album “Velvet” will be his first in four years.
And “New Eyes” is actually the second song he’s released from that project, following “Feel Something,” which dropped in February and came with a long message from Adam about his long absence.
In that message, Adam says he slipped into “a dark period of second-guessing my own artistry and having my mental health suffer because of it.”
“The tracks (on ‘Velvet’),” he added, “will chronicle the journey of taking responsibility for my own happiness and strength, and searching for intimacy. Since writing this song, I’ve found the joy I was missing and I’m back in my power. I can’t wait for you to hear more!”
Here’s the music video for “New Eyes.”
