If you missed the single release from a couple of weeks back, “Calico” is short for California country.

That’s the brand of music the former Season 7 American Idol standout will be serving up on her new album, also called “Calico ” and due out Oct. 4.

Brooke, 36, says she always envisioned making it to Nashville and releasing a country album.

But she made her roots in Los Angeles and decided to make her country album there instead.

The video finds her strolling through an L.A. subway station and then the streets of the city, exchanging hats with passers-by along the way.

Braden Barty directed the video, completed “with help from so many pals and even some funny random strangers,“ Brooke says on Instagram.
