Devon Alexander from Sonora, Calif., has announced his audition for American Idol Season 18

American Idol return Sunday, Feb. 16, with its Season 18 premiere.

Among the singers who announced they auditioned is Devon Alexander.

Here’s more about Devon.

* His last name is Sokyrka and he’s been a community youth educator with the Center For a Non Violent Community since 2014.

* He’s also worked Tuolumne County Social Services. His work has included coordinating a rape prevention education grant and facilitating sexual harassment and bullying prevention workshops in local middle schools.

* His professional bio also notes that he “enjoys making music.”

* Head to Soundcloud and you can find Devon’s covers of Lorde’s “Liability” and Childish Gambino’s “Redbone.”

* On Instagram, he promises new music coming in 2020. He revealed his audition way back in November.

* He moved to L.A. about a year ago and turned 23 in November.
