New post-Voice singles out this week include songs from Katrina Cain, Owen Danoff and Jupiter Winter, featuring Lelia Broussard.

Here’s a bit about those releases. The links take you to the songs on Apple Music. Or you can check out the Spotify snippets below.

* Katrina Cain from Season 15 released her first single of 2020, “Forgive Me in the Morning” on Friday. She told GlobalTV that it’s a song she wrote about a year ago and credits producer Andrew McMillan for its almost haunting sound. Explains Katrina: “It’s about fighting with a significant other, but it’s not about ‘we’re in a fight and I’m angry.’ It’s more about, ‘I just don’t want to fight anymore.’ Sometimes, I think, when you are having a conflict with someone that you really care about, you might not know the right answer, so sometimes the best answer is to just stop and take a break. I wanted to write a song from that perspective. ‘Let’s just end this fight.'”

* Owen Danoff from Season 10 released “Priceless” on Friday. On Instagram, Owen says he wrote the song “on a summer day in Greenwich Village after almost the whole chorus showed up in my head out of nowhere. It’s a love song, but I’ve always thought of it as a love letter to New York more than anything else. It makes me nostalgic for brick sidewalks, Central Park, neighborhood ramen restaurants, and that NYC grit.” It’s the first release of 2020 from the former Top 11 finisher on The Voice.

* Jupiter Winter released “Lifetime” on Friday. The duo features Lelia Broussard from Season 3 and Royce Whittaker. Says Lelia: “Lifetime is about growing with a partner through big life changes, pain and resentments and physical distance. It’s about finding a renewed spark and passion and remembering the hope and excitement you had when you first met after going through a period of time that felt insurmountable. It’s about renewal and taking care of yourself so that you can take better care of each other.” It’s also the second single of 2020 from the duo, following “Come Back.”
