Chevel Shepherd, winner of The Voice Season 15, will release two new songs next month.

Chevel Shepherd, Season 15 champ on The Voice, has announced she’ll release a pair of songs March 20.

Those will include “Everybody’s Got a Story” and “Mama Got the Chair,” and Chevel is encouraged fans to pre-save the songs on Apple Music and Spotify.

While winners of The Voice are typically signed to Republic Records, Chevel will be releasing the songs independently.

But she’s been working with Voice coach Kelly Clarkson on the project. In fact, the songs were recorded at Starstruck Entertainment in Nashville, which is owned by Kelly’s father-in-law.

She also helped Chevel find the songs.

“Everybody’s Got a Story” was written by Shane McAnally, Kacey Musgraves and Brandy Clark. “Mama Got the Chair” was written by Nora Collins, Nick Donley and Dave Fenley, another Season 15 contestant on The Voice.

Now 17 and a senior in high school, Chevel was 16 when she auditioned for The Voice.

She’s been busy since with performances, the filming of a movie (“Wildfire,” set for release in June) and releasing an anthem for the Professional Bull Riders.

She’s also got a number of shows coming up, including a hometown show at the Farmington Civic Center in Farmington, N.M., in mid-June.

She declined the Republic contract that the winner typically gets. Jake Hoot did as well. I would expect more winners to do the same in the future (especially Team Kelly and/or country).
