Gigi Hess was eliminated from The Voice in a battle round match that aired Monday night.
But the 22-year-old singer-songwriter from Lovington, N.M., says she’s moved to Nashville since auditioning for the show.
And she plans on delivering music to her fans, new and old, as soon as possible.
Gigi earned a spot on Team Kelly Clarkson by singing The Cure’s “Lovesong” in the blind auditions.
She then performed Lewis Capaldi’s “Someone You Loved” in the battle round with Micah Iverson.
Both singers received praise for their performances, but Kelly opted to advance Micah.
Here’s what Gigi told Voice Views about her time on the show.
Voice Views: What do you consider your biggest takeaway / lesson learned from The Voice experience?
Gigi: I feel like more than anything I learned that I am so much more capable of things than I give myself credit for! I always seem to doubt myself, but after taking on The Voice, I feel so inspired & confident in my abilities! The experience is something I’ll cherish forever.
Voice Views: What are you post-Voice plans musically? Where are you hoping this opportunity leads?
Gigi: My post-Voice plans consist of creating a mini-tour as soon as the quarantine is over! I want to get out & do what I love in front of the people who are supporting me! This opportunity has already led to such amazing things, like moving to Nashville with another Voice contestant (Zach Day), but also the amount of people reaching out to me who are kind & love my sound & my music, that in and of itself is enough! I’m so grateful!
Voice Views: Do you have plans to release new music? If so, what can you tell us about that?
Gigi: A million times yes! I have a few songs that I plan on releasing as soon as possible! I feel like my songwriting style changes every time I write a new song! I don’t necessarily feel like my songs fit a genre, but they’re all a good representation of me as an artist! I hope that people dig them, because they mean so much to me!
Voice Views: Is there anything else you’d like to add about The Voice experience?
Gigi: The Voice has been & will be one of the most cherished opportunities in my life! I can’t thank Kelly & The Voice enough for seeing something special in me & for giving me a chance to tell my story & to do what I love most! More than anything, thank you to The Voice, Kelly & Dua Lipa for helping me grow as an artist & as a person! I will hold the advice & words of encouragement that I received from you all close to me forever! This experience has meant the world to me, and I’m so blessed to have gotten the opportunity!
