To download it, all you need to do is go to her website or to SophisticatedHairstyleGuide.com (where Kimberly writes a beauty blog) for the link.

The song is a catchy tune called “On the Weekend” and it’s the first glimpse at the music that will apparently make up Kimberly’s second album.

In a video on her website, Kimberly says she’s making the new music with the help of producer Andrew Dixon.

He said he created a fun 1980’s flavored track called “What Good is Love.”

“No one got it until Kim heard it and freaked out and was jumping up and down,” Andrew says. “It was the perfect fit.”

“And so we decided to write and create a whole album,” Kimberly adds. “The inspiration for the second record is the ’80s. All I think about is roller skates and spinning around with my hands in the air.”

There’s no ETA on a release date. But you can head to Kimberly’s soundcloud page to hear a couple of the other new tunes — “Tied Together” and “Doin’ Me Right.” You can listen to “On the Weekend” there or on Kimberly’s site.

Kimberly released her underrated debut album, “Without Regret,” in 2011. One of the singles, “Desperate Boys and Stupid Girls” made my list of best Idol songs from 2010.

Since Idol, Kimberly has also hosted a number of TV shows and launched her own handmade leather handbag line called Stage Presents.
