Adam Lambert performs with Queen at EMAs

1

Adam Lambert had told fans to be sure to tune in to the MTV European Music Awards Sunday night.

Yesterday, he even tweeted: “It’s almost time for the surprise.”

Well, the surprise didn’t come until the end of last night’s show, when Adam joined Queen for a special three-song medley.

Adam sang “The Show Must Go On,” “We Are the Champions” and “We Will Rock You” with the group, which had received the Global Icon Award earlier in the show.

Adam has long cited Freddie Mercury as an influence. He even auditioned for the show with “Bohemian Rhapsody.”

Adam’s reaction after the performance: “What an enormous honor to sing w QUEEN! I could feel the spirit of Mercury alive on stage tonight! Thank u Brian and Roger and crew,” he said, via Twitter.

Here’s the video for those who missed it, followed by photos of the performance provided by The Associated Press.
