Alisan Porter was the favorite for most of Season 10 of The Voice.
After all, the former child star grabbed all four coaches’ attention with her cover of “Blue Bayou” during the blind audition and looked unbeatable in the battle and knockout rounds.
Recently, however, she hadn’t looked unbeatable. Just two weeks ago, she finished sixth among nine singers on the iTunes singles chart.
Meanwhile, Adam Wakefield was surging. Would the combination of his soulful country sound and Blake Shelton’s coaching magic pull an upset.
Sure enough, after Laith Al-Saadi was announced as the fourth-place finisher and Hannah Huston was announced as the third-place singer, the Season 10 title came down to Adam and Alisan.
But Alisan pulled out the victory, making Christina Aguilera the first female coach to have an artist win the show.
Here’s a photo gallery of Alisan’s winning night on The Voice.
