Three former American Idol standouts — Ava August, Allegra Miles and Beane — have new music out.
Here’s more about their releases.
Ava August, Top 12 on Season 19 of American Idol, dropped a single called “Beauty Queen” on Friday. Says Ava: “I wrote this song when I was 16 years old during the pandemic and I wanted to capture the feelings and emotions of insecurity that we all go through at points in our life. I use my songwriting as an outlet to express myself and tell stories that are hopefully universal and relatable to people of all ages. I hope this song can help you heal and reflect upon different times you’ve maybe felt insecure in the past or present. You are not alone.” Ava, from Orange County, Calif., was just 15 when she auditioned for American Idol with another original called “Neighbor Boy.” She wrote the new single with Nick Squillante. It follows the excellent “Move On” as her second single of 2023.
Allegra Miles, Top 14 on Season 20 of American Idol, released “Heal My Soul” on Friday. “This is my favorite song I’ve put out so far,” Allegra writes on social media. “I’m so very proud of it and beyond grateful for the amazing humans I got to create it with.” That includes Hunter Metts from Season 19 of Idol and Anton DeLost. Hunter also produced the track. “Heal My Soul” follows “Girl,” “Stronger Than You Know” and “Stay” as the fourth single of 2023 from the Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter. Allegra recently performed at Sunfest in West Palm Beach, Fla. The event also featured The Chain Smokers, Ziggy Marley, Jack Johnson and Flo Rida.
Beane, Top 12 on Season 19, also has a new tune out, a pop single called “Tiptoe.” He calls the song “something totally new from me. Let me know what you think!! I’m endlessly grateful for the team that helps make my raggedy ass sound like glitter.” “Tiptoe” follows “Rhythm of Us” as Beane’s second single of 2023. He’s released six in all since appearing on Idol in the spring of 2021.

Good to read that some robbed “Idol” alums are releasing music.
Special kudos for those singers who were in Season 19, which had that awful, manipulative twist that allowed Arthur Gunn to return to the competition.
I love being informed when former contestants release new music! I love Ava August new track Beauty Queen! She is the REAL deal!
