Brooke Simpson and Jonathan Gamble collaborated on Quarantine

Brooke Simpson and Jonathan Gamble collaborated on “Quarantine.”

Former Voice finalist Brooke Simpson told fans to expect a “quarantine bop” to drop on Friday.

What dropped was a quarantine love ballad — called, appropriately, “Quarantine” — in which she and Jonathan Gamble sing about a month of March that seems to last 60 days.

And both lend lovely vocals to a single that came out under Jonathan’s name, with Brooke as the featured guest vocalist.

Writes Jonathan, a Nashville-based songwriter, on Instagram: “The goal for this song has never been to get a gazillion streams. It’s to connect with people and share the feelings I have for my wife, that I’m sure other people have felt for their loved ones too.”

And while he says he’s a songwriter first and foremost, he adds “there are some songs that wouldn’t feel right to give away to another artist.”

Meanwhile, Brooke just celebrated her birthday and plans to release a single of her own to streaming sites next Friday.

In the meantime, she’s released a remix of her fun single “Really Long Nails” plus a couple of quarantine diary songs exclusively to Soundcloud.

Brooke finished third on Season 13 of The Voice.
